BRASSCRAFT HAS SAFETY IN MIND! THERMAL EXCESS FLOW TECHNOLOGY
Monday, April 23, 2018
Let me introduce the latest innovation from Brasscraft Manufacturing Company – the Safety+Plus®2 Thermal Excess Flow Valve. This technology provides the ultimate protection against excess gas build up and helps prevent gas related fires in the event of a gas line rupture or disconnect and explosions in the event of fire.
BrassCraft’s Safety+PLUS2 gas connection combines our patented excess flow valve technology and our new heat activation thermal technology to provide a safer gas connection for your home and family.
In the event of a gas line rupture or disconnect, the excess flow valve (EFV) restricts gas flow at the appliance to a non-hazardous level. This restriction helps avert the potential for a dangerous release of gas into the home. Gas is controlled only at the point where the problem exists; the rest of your system will continue to function. The EFV automatically resets once the gas line is properly repaired.
The thermal component utilizes a thermal intumescent ring that expands when exposed to extreme temperatures (400°F or more) and reduces the likelihood of an explosive event.
Features:
- Thermal intumescent ring and excess flow technology
- Compatible with most residential gas appliances; can be used with natural gas, LP gas (propane) and LP gas-air mixtures
- Made of corrosion-resistant steel
- 100% leak tested
- Designed, machined and assembled in the USA
- CSA certified to Z2193 for excess flow valve
Benefits:
- Helps protect against gas build ups
- No special tools required for installation
- Easy to install; Omni-directional installation
All Safety+Plus2 valves are sold with our ProCoat® coated gas connectors. These connectors provide superior corrosion resistance against most harsh household chemicals. They are UV and salt resistant and 100% performance tested. Available for gas ranges, cook-tops, dryers and water heaters in a wide variety of configurations and length. All ProCoat gas connectors are designed, machined and assembled in the United States.
Available at The Home Depot stores.
